Child  Development  in Ciudad  Sandino

donate
Ciudad Sandino is a marginalized city on the outskirts of Managua, Nicaragua's capital. In Ciudad Sandino, CANTERA supports 430 children and their families through:
  • Quality preschool education for 230 students
  • Workshops on human rights, gender equity, and non-violence
  • Homework help
  • A community library
  • Educational games
  • Dance, karate, and theatre classes
  • Parent education classes
  • Photography and film classes
At home, children experience violence and inequality. At CANTERA, children learn leadership skills and develop self-expression in a respectful, harmonious environment. This formation gives them tools to be active members of society working for social change for their whole life. CANTERA accompanies children's families so children's education continues at home.
